I’ve been on the road for two weeks now and didn’t shave for the first week as I was rafting on the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and I just wasn’t going to shave in that damn cold water. I’ve been using the Rockwell 6s on plate 4 with a Feather blade since Sunday. (I had to use electric clippers to get rid of the week’s growth prior to shaving) Lathering with a Tabac soap stick and a Simpson travel brush, the Major. Finished with some PAA Atomic Age Bay Rum Star Jelly. I’ve been getting very nice shaves, however, this morning I flipped the plate to #2 and still got a bbs shave without a single nick or weeper. I was pleasantly surprised.

The 6S in my books is a deal and half for adjustable razor of high quality metal + tight tolerances. The only issue if I'm to nit pick it is that is top heavy but still a champ performer with zero blade chatter like it was CNC milled

My 6c on setting #4 with a perma sharp blade is always a perfect shave.

I’ve been using plate #4 almost exclusively with the odd use of 3,5 or 6 with several bobsleds. The polsilver SI is great, Feather, personna lab blues, Israeli reds and so forth. I’m impressed at just how many different blades perform so well in the one razor because, as we know, that’s not always the case. I was just so surprised at how well plate #2 performed. I just wanted a gentle shave and was prepared to trade some closeness for comfort but that didn’t turn out to be the case. I’ll go back to #4 but now I know that if I’m ever pressed for time I can use #2 and fly through a close shave safely. I’d also recommend plate #2 to anyone starting out in wet shaving -a close, comfortable shave that is uncompromising allowing you to safely refine your technique.

Bobsleds? I meant blades. That autocorrect can get creative.

The best preforming razor I’ve ever owned (it even beat out my Timeless and Blackbird)

I usually use plate #5 with a Polsilver blade. Just perfect every time!

I used one of the other plates (#2) with an extra polished EJ89 top cap and a Timeless titanium handle to make a frankenrazor. It works surprisingly well and looks very unique/cool!
