The head is actually good, but you have to know how to shave.  No pressure, etc. everyone I know that can shave with many razors love it.  I know if you can only shave with a Merkur 34C or an Overlander you can’t use that pressure with a 1.5 blade gap.  

Get a Gillette super speed TTO or flare tip.  You can’t beat their mild yet effective nature of a TTO.  There is no modern TTO I would buy personally and I generally only use modern razors.

Other than Ethos there are dozens of soaps I would reach for before Cella starting at Proraso.

But how did you reach such conclusion without trying Cella and Proraso first ...?
Wetshaving is a gradual journey, can't skip NCAA if you want to play NBA.

Regarding this thread: I have a rule when trying out razors. I will always try to find a way to get a great shave with any razor that comes into my hands. Only when I can consistently get great shaves with it will I decide if I want to keep it or not. 

My thought is that the tool should work. I may need to modify my technique somewhat to make it work, but it should work. I have yet to come across a razor that hasn't worked for me. I definitely prefer a more aggressive shaver of moderate weight, but even a light mild razor will work with some technique adjustment.

Once I can get consistently good shaves, I will decide if the style matches my preferences and if it does not, I will get rid of it.

$28 for a Yaqi The Final Cut which is a homage to the Vintage Gibbs Adjustable

Well Lebron is notoriously frugal he would unlikely  buy Ethos products.

Let’s not put any of us into that bucket.  I happen to know Keto and myself are both generous people.

If someone's just looking to shave on a budget they could probably start with one of the cartridge razor programs and canned goo. Even at that it progresses from a two blade, then 3 blade etc...
 That's where this thing progresses, we get into DE razors for a better shave and upgrade the soap and sample blades to do so.
  If we're doing this why not just start with better soap to start with say Ethos, B&M, Aion and save a lot of the buying trying. 
Maybe some folks are happy to just get a razor and use something like Cella or tube cream. 
 I don't believe people are on here very long without buying and trying, blades, Razors and soap to get better shaves.
   Seems like to me it would come down to what works for one person versus another person, we see this all the time.
