What is the Nodachi comparable to? D plate Karve?

Sorry, haven't had my Karve for quite some time so someone else will need to answer that. If I had to guess on poor memory I would say around C to D

One more thing.  Regarding the Nodachi handle.  It was too long and too heavy.  Also, the indented grip area at the top of the handle is too small. 
I do prefer it's æsthetics over the Masamuné, and the indented grip is indeed a good idea.  Just make the grip area larger, and the handle smaller.

2nd shave with the Nodachi razor from Tatara. Chose T&S Kyoto for the soap today and took a bit getting the lather I wanted due to not getting it loaded onto the brush (soft soap pushing around the bowl) and then adding too much water and got a frothy lather that eventually came around closer to what I was looking for. Not a problem with the soap, just need a tub of it but it's no longer available. Anyway on to the razor. Installed a fresh Wizamet blade and got a better shave with it but still dialing in the angle which seems to requires you to lean more to riding the cap than I normally do, but that's where the sweeter spot is for cutting. The longer handle makes this more difficult for me to do so comfortably but we will continue the science experiment tomorrow. After some Maravilla 70 we topped off with Aqua Velva and some Bvlgari Aqva Amara. Video will be in the VLOG member section. Have a great day Guys and Gals !!

Today was shave #3 with the Tatara Nodachi and I've used it enough to know that it is an extremely nice razor but not for me. I will say today was the best shave I had with it yet but more effort to get there than compared to other razors FOR ME. You shave long enough and you learn that things can be talked up or talked down on the forums but until you try things yourself you don't know if it's a fit for you. Some take it personal if you don't agree with there assessments. I don't as there have been razors that were raved about that I didn't care for. There have also been razors people talked negatively about that were perfect fits for me. Yes sometimes it has to do with a persons technique not being refined enough. I've been shaving like this since 2008-9 and know what works for me. I got a better shave with my Wizamet blades but still it required too much clean up and buffing to get there due to the angle required for the sweet spot that while a great and extremely well manufactured razor, it isn't one I feel the need to grab right away. Not saying I won't get one down the road. Just not a must have. I personally can get a far better, closer and more comfortable shave with my 6s plate 5-6 or the .84 Game Changer. Again this isn't a knock on the razor. This is my experience with it for me personally. I thank Tatara and Dan for doing the pass around and appreciate being a part of it. I'd be interested to see a comparison between the Tatara Nodachi, the Carbon Cx, and the new H&S razor.  I tried the Carbon on a pass-around, 
and I thought it was a good shaver, but did not buy one.  I think the Nodachi is the better shaver of the two, but it is hard to compare from memory, 
and I don't have a Carbon Cx.  I am on the H&S PO76 pass-around, so I will be doing side by side shaves with it and the Nodachi when it arrives.  
If anyone has all three razors, I invite you to please respond.  Thank you.

I've used the Carbon CX and H&S. Loved the Carbon, liked the H&S but wouldn't purchase one. Definitely going to get the Carbon sometime down the road though.

I am coordinating both the H&S P076 and Tatara Nodachi passarounds and have used the CX. Not a fan of the CX. Found it bitey by comparison. The H&S and Tatara are both excellent razors but unique. Definitely prefer the Tatara SB to the Tatara OC whereas both SB and OC are outstanding in the H&S. Between the Tatara SB and H&S, it is a comparing 2 different concepts both executed incredibly well - to me it is akin to comparing the Wolfman WR1 to the BBS1, both great yet different. In fact, to my mind, the Tatara Nodachi SB and the H&S P076 in either SB or OC are the 2 razors ranked RIGHT after the Wolfman WR1 and BBS1 they ARE that good!

I've had the tatara masamune for a few days now and have shaved with it using 4 different blades. Overall it's been a great experience so far. It feels very smooth with the right blade, I find myself enjoying the blade feel and it's quite efficient and I would say mid aggressive but very comfortable. It seems that the head geometry is what makes it more aggressive then you'd think it would be, considering the negative exposure and smaller blade gap. Love the low profile head, it's very ergonomic and comfortable to use. Best blade in it so far has been GSB followed by Astra Green. Definitely going to give the nodachi a shot in the near future. Will likely just pick up the head because the handle looks too long for me.
