Have you had an opportunity to compare the Nodachi to the Blackbird? My only concern is that I will find it a bit mild as I use a shim in my Blackbirds.
The Blackbird is my principal DE and I have been thinking I should get the Nodachi seeing as I am Portuguese and I should try to own, at least, one shaving item from my native country.

It shaves much more efficiently than it feels. Really a truly great razor. It supplanted the 0,95 Timeless in my top three and loved that razorI'm going through all my modern upscale razors because by memory none of them have the magic balance of smoothness and efficiency as does the Nodachi OC. Gonna sell some stuff.

Been a while for the BlackBird but my memory is the Nodachi much smoother and slightly more efficient
But to be frank, my perspective is the Dart was Shane's best shaver - REALLY liked it and certainly in my top 5 of razors at any price. Flame away

Nodachi is more efficient?! That is interesting as I had never heard that from anyone else. I guess I may have to give it a try to determine it, for myself.
Personally, I didn't like the Dart. I found it a bit harsh compared to the Blackbird. YMMV.
Thank you for your perspective.

Apologies but the one overriding memory of the Blackbird was its harshness and had it for awhile using different blades. Shave was good but harshness stood out big time.

Let me think it over.
Ontario? If so, I'd join and we could work something out to cut the cost of shipping a little. Customs and taxes don't apply for products that aren't purchaser outside of our country. We'd be in the clear.
Edit: to clarify, as long as it's sent as a gift and not claimed to be a product we purchased, no duties or customs will apply.
