Lucky you!  Love Brazil.  Tough issues there at the moment, eh?  The guys at Tatara are Portuguese FYI

I just discovered that you can't shim this razor.  It won't cinch down.  The blade vice balks if you try.
This is the only razor I've ever used where the tolerances are so tight that it won't accept even 1 shim.
I don't know whether to smile or frown.

You must like aggressive razors. I don’t think I would want to shim the Nodachi.

As a daily 2 pass shaver (WTG and ATG), I can say that the nodachi SB version is my second favorite razor ever only behind my 1.55 WR2. I can easily shave with it every single day without a hint of irritation. Blade feel is very minimal. I was able to use the OC plate thanks to Dan, and I liked a lot. It's smooth and I feel like I can also use it daily without issues. I think it's a great option for those who like open combs. However, it felt slightly less smooth than the SB plate, and I also didn't notice too much of an increase in efficiency, if any. As a daily shaver it doesn't make much sense for me to get the OC, but I'm such a Tatara fan that I might still get it only to have a complete nodachi setup. I have also used the nodachi top cap + masamune OC plate in the past, but prefer the nodachi OC plate. I find it surprisingly smoother than the nodachi top cap + masamune OC plate combination. And it's of course more efficient as well. For what it's worth, I have a nodachi head on a masamune handle since I can't stand long handles.

As far as aesthetics go, I'm a big fan! I think the razor looks very unique and very elegant. The handle feels great in my hands and I actually really like the propriety way the handle screws into the base plate. The nodachi clamps the blade tighter than any razor I've ever used and I feel like that's part of the reason why.
I think the guys over at Tatara are extremely talented at what they do and can't recommend the Nodachi enough!

Many thanks to Dan for this pass-around!

Nodachi is one of the best razor I have ever used.
I could not find in the posts, do you know when Nodachi OC plate will be available?

The OC plate is included with our passaround. As far as I know it is now for sale to the public.

Dan is there any room left on the pass around list. I hear so many good things about this razor it has my curiosity up. Also what level or should I say range of efficiency is the razor where comparing it to lets say a Charcoal level 2 or 3 or a Timeless .95 or one of the Wolfman razor gaps?

Thank you.

CG level 1 in feel but efficiency between level 2-3. Easily the equivalent of 0,95OC Timeless, between 0,67 and 0,74 WR1 with 0,61 feel. It shaves much more efficiently than it feels. Really a truly great razor. It supplanted the 0,95 Timeless in my top three and loved that razor

Yes there is room in the passaround although you need wait your turn. PM me directly.

Sounds like a razor I'd enjoy trying and of course I'll take my place at the bottom of the list. I'll pm you my address and thank you for the info!
