I had never tried a Tatara before the Muramasa and no, I probably will never use setting 1,2 or 3. Might use 3 just to try it but I am loving 4 and 5.

The new adjustable on a setting of about 2.7 was equal to the Nodachi top and Masamune BP. The setting 4 on the adjustable was very close to the Nodachi top and BP. The Muramasa for me is very usable from 2-5 as a daily shaver. I could not get a good shave on 1 without adding more pressure than I prefer to use. If the numbers were larger and there was a setting 6 this would be a perfect adjustable to me.Do not misunderstand, I am very happy with the muramasa, its a keeper.

He needs to add two dials but I think dual adjustable razor will be cool. It would be possible to adjust both gap and exposure.

Why would you want both? Is that your suggestion to increasing the razors overall range? Seems like it would be overly complicated.

If he combines both, we can adjust both blade gap and blade exposure.
If he adds 5 more settings in the second dial, the razor will have 5x5 (25 settings)
It is more like a single razor includes many razors.
I think it cool and you can use;
1) high gap-high exposure (like WR2)
2) high gap-low exposure (Carbon ++)
3) low gap - high exposure (H&S P076)
4) low gap - low exposure (Masamune)
and many settings between them.
He might add springs between sliding plates and base plate. And add dial signs on the handle. Like Merkur Progress or Rocnel.
