Just came across a Tally-Ho set with A/S, Cologne and Shave Soap in a wooden bowl in a decorative box. I went ahead and purchased it cuz it was a good deal.

But does anyone know how rare (or not) these are? Just curious cuz it will in my collection cabinet

I see the wooden bowls that used to hold Tally Ho soap on eBay regularly. I have never used the soap but all these empty containers have to mean it was good enough to use the whole puck!

Tally-Ho was produced circa postwar 1940s early 50s and sold by the old retail names like Macy's. The phrase itself was overused much like 'have a good one' today. It was the call sign for RAF aircraft engaging Axis aircraft and a pub salute when raising a glass. Greater L.A. and many other large cities were saturated with Tally-Ho liquor stores, bars, dinner clubs, laundries , bowling alleys and a wooden decked roller derby ring in the San Fernando Valley. I could share the original meaning of the Fox Hunting call but you're probably as Tally Ho'ed out as my uncle who exchanged flights in his P 61 with a Wellington crew and jumped a BF 110 over France with 5 brits yelling Tally-Ho. He received this set one Christmas and never touched it.

I'm only familiar with Tally-Ho straight razors from the 1800s. As others may have stated, that company also produce other products. If you look them up, they do have a long history for other products.
