Tallow + Steel

Ryan, we've had nothing but misery out here in one form or another and the weather hasn't been great either.  Three major snowfalls with the first one in September then another a couple weeks later in October and November is always full on winter here.  10 cm and cold yesterday.  But its sunny and those snow capped Rockies are looking awesome.  Hey, we're Canadian, this is what we live for and I'll say this, the cold and the snow knocks back the mosquitoes a bit.    I could have sworn I saw Bigfoot in his winter what camo earlier today.

Yeah, sorry about the trees - we had a nasty September ice storm a few years back that destroyed many trees. I lost 5 out of my yard. That really sucked. Still does, I lost 25 years of shade growth on the west side of my house. Pioneers again.

Well damn... I was always jealous of your winter weather, and thought of it as my ideal winter (I hate rain, so the west coast is out), but maybe not so much anymore! Ok maybe the Okanagan is where it's at. At least you have the sun and those views!

That sucks about your trees, I hear you! In the spring I am going to look at having some large ones transported in to get some shade back. It's those early storms that do it .. when the trees haven't lost their leaves yet. Too much weight, and down they come. I need to move somewhere warm...

I tell you what - id take your blizzard over having to evacuate/having town destroyed due to wild fires for the second time in 2 years.

Falls with temps in the 70’s has its disadvantages.

The Okanagan winters are pretty gloomy - rain at lake level and wet snow higher up.  The clouds come down to eyebrow level and just hang there.  Its only 2 or 3 months long though so there is that and if you're a skier you can spend the day skiing in sunshine above the cloud level and that's pretty cool.

We had some of that wet snow freezing onto leaves in September .  I was out with my Stihl leaf blower blowing snow off the trees.

Depending where you are, for sure. Usually better than Vancouver or the Island though. Leaf blower is a good idea! I had a broom haha

I heard a rumour that those  aren’t beaver castor sacs in there but actual Sasquatch sacs!
