Tabula Rasa

I'm going through a phase now where I'm buying more of the EU products just to see if there are any hidden gems that I don't know about. Tabula Rasa is one of them, I've read some reviews which were good, there are no shave videos with them that I've found. So I'm curious if anyone uses them and what they thing of this soap/cream.

I’ve gone through two tubs of Tabula Rasa in the past and I think the performance is excellent. It’s consistency is that of a Croap, it’s pretty soft but not as soft as a Cream. The two scents I tried were both pleasant, about a 5-6 out of 10 in scent strength to me. The post-Shave feel was very good for me as well, left my skin feeling great. Overall I think it is a very nice Soap, although personally I would consider it a bit pricey. There are a lot of great Soaps out there with outstanding performance and scent that cost less- a few being Wholly Kaw, Grooming Dept, and Barrister and Mann Reserve for example. As far as European Soaps are concerned, I think Tabula Rasa is very nice with very good performance and is cheaper than some other European offerings. If you’re looking for another European Soap to try, I say give it a shot!

Thanks for the response. Yeah at Maggard's it is a bit expensive but I buy from EU vendors often as a lot of things are cheaper there so a tub or two wouldn't be too expensive.

What two scents did you finish? I'm looking at Abrakabarber and Dezember.

I used “Light Cream”and “Herbs” and they were both very nice. I also smelled a friends “Steam Punk” and it was really nice out of the tub as well. Let us know what you decide to go with, I may have to revisit it again.

When it comes to these creamy/foamy soaps (for lack of a better term), performance in my book is excellent, and even though there is only 90 grams in a jar, a little goes a long way.

Before you order from anywhere else, check Amazon.com too see how much delivery to Canada would cost. I bring this up, because seller Smallflower is selling most of their Tabula Rasa soaps for $13.20, and that includes free shipping within the United States.

It is a fine soap/croap, but I find it a tad expensive and prefer others, much more. YMMV.

It is one of my top soaps and I now have a total of 87 soaps in my rotation. I would not be with out it. You mentioned high price. When I first purchased Olibanum it cost $28. There was a time when a supplier was discontinuing selling it and I got several for $16. That now longer exists I believe the current price is $31 which is not bad for a quality soap that does last long.
