I do like the pricing. At $79, possibly less if they get some manufacturing boost, they are getting in the "mainstream" budget range. IMHO

They just announced a big price increase so get in soon before it hits.

That is still wetshaving (wet + shaving). Canned foam was the go to for most wetshavers from the 1950s until the 1980s when gel took over. At least it is a starting point, one from which people can find even better creams and soaps.

I say the following with no inside knowledge about the behind the scenes of Shark Tank or Supply Razor. We also know the outcome is decided already. Just a thought exercise.
I wonder if the sharks do any preliminary research on the companies that stand before them? Do they look at the company? The competition,etc.? It is a tv show after all, we’re not necessarily seeing everything.
Can this product be mainstream? How many do we need to sell to make it worthwhile(from a shark’s perspective)? Is a competitor like the Oneblade poised to beat it? Will people buy it for $X?
Just my thoughts today.

These razors are not in my wheelhouse with regards to whether I would buy one, but the more wet shaving gets out there, the better it is for everyone.

I'd disagree with that. while a bulk of their customers are probably traditional shavers, I think selling this razor to regular users of canned foam/gel could bridge them over into the more traditional aspects of shaving, too...although if they never do make the full leap, I think it's still a win for us.

Is the outcome decided beforehand? Many, if not most, reality shows are scripted. Shark Tank is more akin to America's Got Talent or American Idol than a reality show.

We are not seeing everything. Contestants are screened by show staff before they ever appear on TV. This is also the case with talent shows. If you think about it, Shark Tank is a talent show of sorts. The screeners separate the chaff from the wheat so the show does not look ridiculous or boring to the audience. Like talent show judges, the Sharks really are making a choice on the spot. The show is like a recruiting tool for them, and they get paid for being on the show.

Thus the selection of experts for the Sharks. Asking the right questions and making the right decisions are their stock in trade.

I agree with you completely. Art of Shaving is the same way. Although many wetshaving hobbyists do not like AoS because it is part of a big corporation, their stores expose huge numbers of people to traditional shaving. Those people would likely never know that these traditional options were available otherwise. The more competition, the better for consumers.

And on a more serious note, Supply not only makes and sells razors, they also sell a shaving cream that is quite nice, and a friend of mine loves their post shave. I’m bringing this up because if someone buys their razor, and then decides to try their “software” as well, it could lead that person to eventually discover the rest of the artisan shaving market.

That’s my hope, at least, because I think many people would enjoy this way of shaving and this hobby, they just don’t know it exists.

It's a very smooth razor, but the efficiency was not up to par for me, even with the 3 dot plate. This could have something to do with the blades just not being a good fit for my skin/beard though. I have had a number of different injectors in the past and have sold them all because the shaves just weren't as good as DE or GEM razors for me.
