Hey there,

What soaps are good substitutes for Proraso Green?  Proraso is great it just lacks some cushion and slickness that are commonplace within any artisan's soap.  The criteria:

1.) simple, pleasant scent
2.) moderate hit of menthol

The summer options I have tend to be fruity (Aloha Smackdown), use peppermint oil instead of mention (SC Vision), or use face freezing levels of menthol (Yeti Snot, Frostbyte, etc).  All of these soaps are terrific but I am looking for something simple like Proraso but gives the cushion and slickness of these other soaps.  Please share your thoughts, I'm placing an order tonight!  Thanks gents.

Poor man asks for moderate menthol and you send him to Frostbite? That's just mean.

Mickey Lee Soapworks Paradise Frost has a great tart grapefruit scent and has a good touch of menthol. Barrister & Mann Adagio is another great summer seasonal with menthol.

I just read the description of Mile High Menthol it sounds like it is a Caties Bubbles clone of Proraso. Is this correct? I've overlooked that because I assumed it was a Frostbite style soap.

I love this scent and the AS is great as well.  Awesome face feel.

Stirling has quite a few soaps with Menthol in them if you like that kick in summer.

No sir, not a *clone* scent, but you can tell it is inspired by the Green.
It is slightly more menthol than the green but doesn't kill the scent

I used Bigelow last night and at one time I thought it was a pretty good soap. OK, it still is, but I'm in agreement with the OP, it's lacking cushion. I didn't notice the lack of slickness because it worked OK with the SEvette. But it just wasn't what I'm accustomed to today.

Amazing how our tastes change over time, for whatever reason.
