Razor: Timeless Titanium (.95 plate)
Brush: TDR (Chisel & Hound) "Montgolfier" w/ 26mm Fanchurian V10 Knot
Soap: Los Jabones de Joserra - Sweet & Dandy
Aftershave: Floid - Vigoroso Limited Edition
Blade: Wizamet

I wanted to sneak in a couple more shaves in with the amazing Timeless Ti before I ship it back to Jesse. After comparing the 2 plates (Slim and .95), I think my favorite is the .95. The Slim is fast and a bit sleeker, more blade feel... again reminding me of the Wolfman WR1, but not quite as smooth and I noticed my stubble grew back pretty quick after using it. The .95 in stainless could be my "favorite" razor in the Den. The Ti version is just as great but with a "softer" face feel. Thank you again Jesse jesseix for letting me give this razor a try! Very cool of you.

Now, lets talk more about a crazy soap... Sweet & Dandy is an enigma to me. The scent is super strong and sweet off the puck. Really sweet. To the point you think its gonna be a sugarbomb and be one of those annoying, cloying scented soaps that you kick out of the den in short order. This is where it gets interesting, once the soap starts to get lathered, the scent transforms into a dark, robust coffee/expresso scent. Talk about a 180! Really wild. I've never seen a soap scent change like this. How does he do this wizardry? As previously mentioned, the performance is elite.

Also new in the den is a Chisel & Hound Brush (well, this one is technically a That Darn Rob brush, prior to him changing his company name). The handle is very nice. Rob is a true gentleman and someone I look up to in the handle making game. The V10 Fanchurian is very dense and a bit scrubby. Not sure I'm a huge fan, but I have a feeling this one just needs to be broken in a bit more to unlock its true badger potential!

Have a great day all! The weekend is around the corner. Oh, Thursday Night Football tonight! Join me in cheering on the Seahawks... they need help Wink

Razor: Ikon Tech
Brush: TDR Montgolfier w/ 26mm Fanchurian V10
Soap: T&S Sicily
Aftershave: T&S Sicily
Blade: Voskhod

I don’t reach for the Ikon Tech often, but when I do it’s an experience… arguably the most aggressive, modern DE. Feels like you’re using a straight razor. You better be focused and bring your A-game technique with this beast.

The TiBam handle was a new addition that I purchased from Eric! Thanks Eric. It was surprisingly slippery even though it has a plethora of knurling! What a beautifully machined handle though. I will put it to good use!

The T&S set is incredible. Love the scent. An elite level offering.

And live from the PNW rain forest, it’s Saturday Night.

Cool photo frame (as well as the actual photo!), sort of vintage snap shot, like what I remember seeing in our family photo albums!

Razors: Wolfman WR1 (.80 Gap) & Wolfman WR2 (1.25 Gap)
Brush: Zenith 24mm Boar
Soap: 345 Soaps - Fresh Cut Fade
Aftershave: 345 Soaps - Fresh Cut Fade
Blade: Astra SP

My name came up on the waitlist for another Wolfman and I've been unsure what I want to pick up next (if anything at all). Over the last year, I've struggled to decide which model I like more, the WR1 or WR2. So, last night, I did a side-by-side shootout in an attempt to crown a winner. I did 4 passes and switched back and forth on each pass for a fair test. I used the same new Astra SP Blade as well.

First, lets talk "gaps". I like mid-aggressive razors. I think both of these gaps (.80 and 1.25) definitely fall into that category and lean a little more to the aggressive side of that scale. I think both are almost equally "aggressive", but they definitely have a different feel and each brings a different shaving experience.

So here's the quick bulleted breakdown after last nights shootout:

WR1:
- Much more blade feel
- Sleeker/Slimmer/Faster head design... gets under the nose easier
- More Audible Feedback
- Easier to find the correct cutting angle/has a wider effective cutting angle range
- More efficient

WR2:
- Smoother
- More bend on the blade
- Head design is a bit bulky and tough for me under the nose
- Narrow effective cutting angle range. I'm constantly trying to keep the correct angle which is slightly annoying.
- More attractive appearance/design (personal preference)

So is there a crystal clear winner for me? No. There is not. The 2 heads are different enough I can justify owning both. I think I have a slight preference to the WR1 if I'm being brutally honest and HAD to pick a winner. But again, they are 2 very different razors. Part of me feels like I picked the wrong gaps in both of these razors! Perhaps I should have picked a lower gap WR1 (as I love the RR Lupo .72 so much) and a higher gap in the WR2.

Anyways, there ya go. My scientific findings in a "journal of awesomeness and honesty". I'll see what the new Wolfman razor models/material will be in this upcoming November release. But I may also just opt to not order anything, as I have a handful of inexpensive razors that are actually better shavers for me than either my WR1 or WR2. That said, nothing is as beautifully machined and polished as a Wolfman... and I really can appreciate that.

Thanks for reading

I know exactly what you mean. There's a million forum posts on "What Wolfman Gap should I buy"??

My answer would be: Go buy a Razorock SS Lupo first. It's the same shave experience as the WR1 and will help identify what gap you like... for about $65

Razor: Blackland Blackbird w/ TiBam Titanium Handle
Brush: Trotter Handcrafts - "Cellar Door" w/ 26mm SHD Knot
Soap: Los Jabones De Joserra
Aftershave: Floid Black
Blade: Voskhod

I've been incredibly busy lately with long days at the refinery, kid activities and more new landscaping around casa de Trotter. So finding time to make brush handles and actually shave has been semi-challenging! Last night I was able to sneak a very good shave in with some of my favorite gear.

I do have a number of resin blanks curing up, including semi-clear Seaglass and the Copper/Black mix (which has been very popular). There still is 1 Oscuro handle in the Etsy shop (if anyone else here wants to become a "member")... oh, and I have some exciting new colors to show in the near-future. I went a little crazy ordering dye and mica powders. they should be arriving today! So that will be fun. I think a lot of these will be solid handle colors (like the recent "Adobe" offerings). But we shall see!

I hope each of you has a great Thursday. Stay safe and seize the day.
