Darn it, Paul. I'm going to have to unsubscribe from this thread. If I see one more brush handle I'll probably start making offers on every shack with a garage I find on my real estate app just so I have a place to set up the lathe.

Lol that's what I'm doing now just to keep the stuff dry, but there isn't enough room to set it up.

A mini Jet lathe and a folding table might be a good short term solution!

I've thought about a Jet lathe many times in the last couple of years. They have a lot of features that appeal to me, but I haven't been able to bring myself to pull the trigger on it while mine is working just fine. And since mine was made in the 50s and is all but nuke-proof, it'll probably still be working fine long after we're all gone lol.

Paul, that one Really looks great! I am becoming a big fan of wooden handles. Just minutes ago I was admiring this one:

Razor: Blackland Blackbird
Brush: Elite
Soap: Ethos Greenfresh
Aftershave: Cella Aloe Vera
Blade: Nacet

Yesterday was the Dart, so naturally today I reached for the Blackbird. The 2 are such great razors and both give me very close shaves. Hard to pick a winner... just feel lucky to have both in the den!

Dave sent me a sample of Ethos Greenfresh so I was excited to use it today. The dominate scent note I get is lemongrass. There's a little cucumber way in the backseat of the scent mix, but a sharp lemongrass is way out front to my nose. Performance was "good" as expected, but the Los Jabones de Joserra sample from yesterday clearly trumps it IMO. Ethos has some great qualities and skin food, but doesn't hold up for me after 4 passes. I actually think B&M soaps lather and work better for me.

Oh, and here's a black locus handle I busted out last night. Kinda a different/unique shape...

Ooh Smattayu ...

Do you have the link for Zillow, or should we provide it. Haha.

Nice shape to that one Paul, definitely something a little different. I presume it has the standard comfy feeling of your other brushes?

I didn't realize you had never tried Greenfresh. I love the scent on that one. Performance is great, too. I'm going to eventually need to try this Los Jabones de Joserra. I believe I've seen them on The Razor Company.

Happy Friday!

Happy Saturday Friends!

I’m going to take the day off from turning handles and shaving...

Instead I’m gonna watch these Baby Back Ribs smoke for 6 hours!

This 30 year old Brinkmann smoker is a tank. 1/4” welded steel all around. Made in the USA and weighs a ton. Ugly as sin but I seriously love it.

Thanks Dave. Honestly, it’s pretty easy. Even a simple Weber Kettle Grill can do a great job with most slow smoke bbq. Lowe’s sells Pitboss pellet grills which also work well. The key is being able to lock in a set temp... like 250F and hold it tight without too much babysitting!
