Today’s Handcraft is a cool piece of Cherry Wood. Made for a great little face latherin’ brush.

Razor: Blackland Dart
Brush: Brad Sears Arley
Soap: Los Jabones de Joserra - Brihuega
Aftershave: Fine Fresh Vetiver
Blade: Nacet

I felt like reaching for the Dart this morning. It's always been a top performer for me... I find it interesting how many people out there really don't like it! It feels aggressive, but really isn't (if that makes any sense).

Dave sent me this soap sample. I appreciate it since I have never tried anything this company and have been curious about them. I gotta say, it impressed me... a lot! Top-shelf / Elite-level IMO. The scent was lavender with some strong herb notes in the mix (rosemary & thyme). It's not a scent offering I would buy a tub of, however I would buy a different scent in this outstanding soap base.

I'm also a big fan of Los Jabones de Joserra, preformance-wise, and I like the scent myself, but I can see where it would be controversial. FWIW, Pasteur's lists the notes as "Lavender flower nuanced with aromatic notes of rosemary and thyme, the citrus freshness of lemon and bergamot and a background of fragrant tobacco, sweet vanilla and spicy tonka bean." I have one other LJdL soap, Green Twist. Pasteur's lists the Green Twist notes as "Fresh Fougere with lime notes and lavender, softened by shades of lush green leaves on an intense base of amber, sandalwood, musk and clean and fresh ozone notes." IMO the deal breaker for LJdJ is not the scents, but the price - $34.95 for 125g. I splurged and bought these two, but I do not plan to buy more LJdJ.

Ticket punched. End of story.
