While I haven't been doing much smoking lately, I love the result I get with a Weber Kettle. Haven't tried a brisket on it yet... I'll have to fix that!

Didn’t I mention that that stuff generates about the same amount of static as rubbing 50 kittens together? Could have sworn I mentioned it....:p

Is that the Skittles blank?

I hear that. I keep thinking that there has to be an inexpensive way to catch more of that stuff. My BIL gave me his Laguna 1.5 hp dust collector when he upgraded and, while it is overkill for most of my needs, even that doesn’t get everything.

Razor: Blackland Dart
Brush: Trotter Handcrafts - "Cities From Space"
Soap: LEA
Aftershave: Fine Fresh Vetiver
Blade: Astra SP

Initial launch shave of "Cities From Space". I didn't silicone the 26mm Timberwolf knot in. It locked into place by itself and held in the knot socket securely the entire shave and even with a few brisk water shake offs... which got me thinking, I wonder if there is a market or desire to have a brush that users could effortlessly (no adhesive) swap the knots in and out of. It would largely depend on the knot size (and they do vary a bit from one to another). I would have to have a batch of knots on hand and ensure each would lock into the handle I made securely. Just a thought... let me know if any of you guys would be interested in that. Might be fun to have 1 handle and several different knots to use with it at any given time.

I grated the LEA soap and pressed it into a Premium PETG container from Maggards. Love those containers. The soap is very similar to Mitchell's Wool Fat. It's Triple Milled and dense. I got much better results with it this time after grating and using a synthetic knot. I enjoyed the scent (light sandalwood/barbershop) and the post shave is also quite nice. It has a touch of menthol as well.

Oh, and here is today's Handcraft...

Eric cast this blank for me as well. The depth is stunning and I can't stop looking at it... especially the base which has some of the coolest swirl I've ever seen on a handle. Thank you Eric! Someday I'd love to learn more about your pouring/casting techniques. The Silmar resin is very dense/hard. My tools will need a good sharpening after this handle! And I will also need a couple days to vacuum my shop. Smile. I've struggled with what to name this handle. I'm gonna go ahead and optimistically call it "Immunity". I'll give it another round of polishing, but you get the idea:

Wow, amazing brushes Paul, the design and depth on the newest one is shocking.

Eric is both an expert at his craft and a mean mean man (because he can't open up shop, lol).

Cities from Space is stunning, and Immunity is, pause, so difficult to look away from. Mesmerizing, that is what it is.

Gorgeous handle!

I am not sure if this is what Dave is showing, but Muhle markets a brush and replaceable knot for their Rocca and Hexagon lines.  The knot is mounted on a threaded base that screws into or out of the handle.  IMO it's a great idea.
