Stirling Soap

Ordered a few days ago Stirling's Cocoa Forest that they have put back into the lineup.

Chocolate and Fir/Cedarwood/Cypress together...was just too intriguing. That and the Willie Wonka reference in the description. I also had to get the rest of the offering of the Mountain Man scent. This has to be my favorite behind the top Texas on Fire. Will have to post some reviews in the soap and aftershave forums.

Hi Rod. I use your Barbershop, Gin & Tonic, Sharp Dressed Man and Bay Rum in my rotation. I find them among the slickless soaps out there and that's what I prefer. Also I really like your Barbershop bath soap. The wive likes the aroma it leaves in the bathroom. Welcome aboard.

Cocoa Forest is amazing. It is like drinking cocoa on the porch of a log cabin in the middle of coniferous forest. I only got a sample of the aftershave, but it is amazing also. Might have to order full bottle.

ezlovan, an apology is in order. When I ordered your "Kong" synthetic brush, I decided to add one of your peach shaving soaps. The brush was simply love at first sight and use. It is everything that all who praised it said it would be.

However, the first time I used the peach soap, I was disappointed. Your soaps always get good writeups but I didn't get a great lather. I put the soap away but, in the back of my mind, it kept bothering me that so many folks loved the lather they got from your soaps but I got bubkes (a Yiddish word meaning nothing). I was just in the mood for a peach scented shave this morning and I thought one attempt does not a great shaving soap always make. Well, the second time was the charm. I am not sure what I did differently but, wow, what an incredible lather, in all respects. It has moved right up there with the best in my den. Along with one or two other artisan soaps I would recommend, I am now adding Stirling.

Glad it came around Freddy . I have had good luck with Stirling soaps personally without much fuss.

I do think they get easier to load properly the more frequently you use them. I bloom mine (controversial, I know) and it seems to help.

I bloom most of my soaps so that was done both times.  I'm just happy to have reached the point I have with this soap.

I think blooming stirling's soaps really helps with the lather. not too sure why it didn't work as well for you the first time though.

It had to be something minor such as time spent building lather, amount of water used, or perhaps the use of a particular brush (though I doubt that).
