Fantastic, that is why I joined this forum as opposed to a very well known forum that will remain nameless. Big Grin

I haven't been to other shaving forums, but reading rule 1 makes me wonder what kind of "thing" happened Big Grin.

If you are referring to "No discussion of religion, politics, or weapons. Period."

Those are subjects that often engender bad feelings and to which a solution or answer is never found and nobody is ever victorious.

I think it's called "Playing with fire."

nothing on this forum in particular, but those topics can get VERY heated. we'd rather not bring that drama here when there's plenty of other sites to speak on those topics.

Those topics are for nights spent chatting with close friends and cigars and scotch. In contrast with that relaxed atmosphere, everyone here is armed with sharp razor blades. Bad combination Tongue.

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't implying that this rule doesn't make sense, it makes perfect sense. I was just wondering why would someone bring those issues in a shaving forum anyway. Then again, we humans have a tendency to bring those issues everywhere, so I suppose I get the point of making this as a official rule.

I believe that our rules are simple so that there can be no excuse not to follow them.  I guess what they try to say, in aggragate, is that common courtesy should be the driving force of any thread or post.  Disagreements are going to occur and there is nothing wrong with that.  However, how one responds is where the rules come in.

If you wouldnt be comfortable saying it face to face to a man twice your size with a bad reputation...dont say it here.

Be nice, be respectful. We have quite the heated discussions, but as long as people do not become accusatory, incendiary, disrespectful and plain argumentative, we can all still be friends!
