I'd forgotten about Shane's return policy. If you're set on a Blackbird, give it a risk-free trial. I've got the Dart, Blackbird, Vector and Sabre, and they're all works of engineering and production art.

I think the Timeless SS suggestions are on point. I've got a .95 open comb that is very face friendly, yet efficient.

Oh I wasn't trying to self-promote here. I'm pretty sure most (all?) of the brands here offer more or less the same policy.

I've never tried the Dart, but I love the Blackbird solid bar. I dont like harsh / too aggressive razors either. Give Charcoal Goods stainless steel level 2 solid bar a try, or timeless SS or Ti 0.68 solid bar.

I know you weren't Shane--sorry if you thought I was implying such! As I've never invoked a return policy, and in fact never think about it when I buy a razor, I simply don't know which razor makers offer a policy and which don't. I've never even thought about returning a razor. Good luck, or good research, I guess!

Read into the Tatara Nodachi a bit. I just tested it out and was very surprised. Ended up getting a used one off here. A tad smoother than my CG lvl 2 and more efficient. Pretty nice razor and well priced. I use a different handle on it tho.

Some good stainless steel razor options but you may want to look into the Yates 921 Precision razor for which you can get a hybrid (dual comb) mid aggressive (0.64 mm) plate or a high level (1.02 mm) plate in addition to its included regular/mid-level (0.64 mm) plate. This stainless razor comes in a polished or stonewashed finish and his leather travel case and full stand are great accessories.

How about ATT S1, S2 set. S1 for your daily shaves and S2 for a few days growth. Slant razor, well made and you may find it suitable for your requirement.

I'm going to put MY money where my mouth is!

A couple of hours ago, I ordered Shave and Haircut Stainless 075.

I already have a Timeless.68 which is smoothest razor I have; the S&H .75 should be excellent.

Comfort is Number 1 with my shaves. And these will do the trick.

All really good suggestions. I would only add that I don't think you can beat the customer service that Blackland offers. That is not to say any of the others are lacking, but it is to say my dealings with Shane at Blackland are the best I have experienced.
