Splash first, walk around and finish up getting ready for work....then Balm to face, neck, forehead. It gets dry up here in the Canadian winters, so a Balm is a must.

Right now though, in between seasons, AS Milk is the perfect solution.

All evidence has been buried, all tapes have been erased.

I'm a splash guy most of the year, except in the 'dryer' months here in Southern California (I expect at least one drought joke from you guys) which is usually November and December.

I'm a big fan of the Stirling witch hazel and aloe balms.

I tried alcohol based splashes. Have not liked them. The witch hazel and aloe is nice, but I use balms year round. Lighter ones in the summer. Mickey lee's milks are good for this. Thicker balms in colder weather.

I meant to quote OBWA: "I like the bracing feel of a good splash after a shave then I follow it with a balm to add some moisture back into my skin. For the balm I mostly use Soap Commander Integrity. It is some of the best (if not the best) AS balm I've every used. It feels great going on, not sticky and dries down quickly leaving my face feeling awesome. I have some of their scented balms that I use when I use their soaps or when they match the AS splash I use but the awesome thing about Integrity is its unscented and it does not mask the splash at all. Great stuff, give it a try. They have a menthol and menthol free version."

This, but I pour a little of the splash in my palm and rub them together.

EFDan, that sounds like an interesting idea, I might try that. Lately I've been doing the same thing as Bruce, above. Splash first, finish getting ready and if my face feels too dry, I'll throw on some balm before I leave. I'm anticipating having to use a balm everyday here pretty soon. Winter here in Michigan gets harsh. Prior to this last February I was still shaving with a Mach 3 and Barbasol so I would usually just grow a beard for the winter. I bet you all can understand why, haha.

I prefer just the splash, especially for the "slap". I suppose it's like the appeal of eating painfully hot peppers.
One of my favourites though is Proraso Red, which has a touch of shea butter in it. I can feel that slight film hours later, without it being gooey at the beginning like many balms.

Well, ETHOS changed things yet again. The soap followed by Skin Food is so good, no longer required to use ABC balm...at least for summer thus far. Damn Frank!
