Spartacus is - it seems everyone has an Aventus dupe in their lineup

Yep. and stink it does!! I had a tub of the Spartacus and quickly sold it a few years back as not only was it strong, but also I detested this young Metrosexual scent. After all, who wants to smell like smoked pineapple unless you're Don Ho puffing on a doobie!!  Rolleyes

I'm guessing that, because nearly every artisan (and non-artisan, even Cella bio) has an Aventus dupe, the answer is: a lot of people want to smell like Aventus.
Now, I am not a fan of pineapple or fruity scents in general (citrus excluded) and I hate groupthink (I try to lean the other way), but I do like Aventus when done right.  The tartness of the pineapple with the smoke and wood is a nice contrast.

I don’t necessarily have a problem with the scent itself but I’d just like everyone to be clear that the scent is a dupe or “homage” or whatever you want to call it so the buyer knows exactly what they’re getting. I suppose whenever scent notes say pineapple I should think Aventus (other than PAA Pineapple Bay) but clarity would be better. I’ve never smelled real Aventus so I have no idea if the dupes are good copies or not. This might be a question for another thread but, why does wet shaving have a problem with knocking off razors or brush handles but is ok with scent dupes? Seems like the basic principles are the same.

Because this is the age of double-standards.

Sick of it yet?
