I really hesitate to post this but I feel that I have a responsibility to do so. I have been wet shaving on and off for 50 years and have used a variety of shave soaps and splashes all the way back to the original Old Spice, Surrey shave soap, etc. Mostly, I use mass merchandise products, e.g. Clubman, etc. At one point I had an old Seaforth! set of soap, splash and powder bask in the '70's. I tried PAA's homage to Seaforth! and I really liked it, put as PAA themselve state, their products bridge the gap between AS and Cologne so they are a bit strong for me. So, when I saw that Spearhead was also reviving Seaforth! products and now had splashes I decided to give the following a try:

Sometimes you think that a product will smell better on your skin than in the bottle. Unfortunately, that is not the case.
I have now been advised by my church choir that I am to never wear this product to practice again. This has never happened to me before, not even with Lilac Vegetal!
I hope that I don't get banned for this.

No banning necessary. I agree with you that buying scent online based on a description is a problem. I’ve got several of the Spearhead Seaforth soaps but I gave that one a pass based on the scent notes. I like Spiced, Black Watch and Sea Spice Lime and also Heather. I think you can get samples. Lilac Vegetal? I think you should treat your choir to a month of Tabac. I love that stuff.
