Has anyone seen or used this shaving soap yet?  I just noticed the listing at Top Of The Chain in New Arrivals and I looked at the description s as nd was pleasantly surprised to find that the scent is blended by Shawn Maher of Maher Olfactives. Well that’s enough for me so I ordered the two soaps listed for sale, Spice and Heather.  Any scent blended by Shawn Maher is worth trying and I’m assuming that if Shawn is tying his name to the soap then the base must be respectable. I’ll circle back once I’ve tried it.

I have heather. Only used it once so I can’t comment 100% on performance yet but it did lather easily. The scent to me smells oldschool and kind of reminds me of Gillette shave gel. I like it.

The soaps are easy to lather and performance is excellent. The lather is very slick and very dense, which is my preference and I enjoy using the soaps a lot. I haven’t purchased the new soaps yet, but soon. I have the experimental soaps in this base.

Loved everything about both the soap and aftershave product. Great work by all involved.

Ironically, I just bought the PAA aftershave called Diver Down which is a homage to the original Seaforth Spice AS. kensurfs on Youtube says it is an exact clone of the original which he has. Spearhead made their AS a balm w/o alcohol which is a no go for me. More on the original.

I have the AS only. It's OK. Not a real projector however IMO. I also bought their Awesome Sauce AS and their Sandalwood Supreme AS. The former is very good and initially is a stronger version of Proraso Green AS, but doesn't last much longer than the real deal AS. The Sandalwood Science is not for me as it is perfumey sweet and has little if any projection. D.R. Harris is still my #1 sandalwood AS. I recently bought a 1 oz. bottle of WSP Sandalwood AS to try and although I really like the scent, it is feeble. YMMV.

Thats good to know.  Not all PAA scents are for me.  I don't care for the heavy sweet musky ones.  I picked up some John Frum because I fell for the marketing and I can't handle it.  I have to wash it off because it nauseates me.  I like PAA's bay rums generally although Boomtown isn't my favourite because of the heavy leather scent.  I really like Kiritamati and Space Nog is up there as well as the classic and the atomic age Bay Rum.  Atomic Pumpkin is good and I have Blue Samhain on the way because it sounds interesting.  I like TOBS sandalwood as well as the D.R. Harris.

I used Seaforth! Spice today.  I loved it.  Great scent, great lather and very slick and comfortable.  I'm looking forward to Carmine at Top of The Chain restocking the splash because I wasn't able to get any the first time.  Yes I think Shawn of Chatillon Lux / Maher Olfactives has done it again for me.   Happy2
