I think I'll have some spam, egg, spam, spam, bacon and spam.

I don't even want to think about that. I did see bacon scented AS once though. Excuse me, it was cologne.

Then there is this: https://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation/10-...er-for-you

Mmmm, Stilton scented cologne. Why not Limburger?
While novelty scents might seem interesting in concept they rarely prove to be something you'd use in execution.  Spam?  I picked up a soap and splash set a while back from PAA, it was called 9 and was an homage to Hoppe's 9 gun oil.  I used it once.  It smelled like Hoppe's 9 for sure but as it turned out, I didn't really enjoy the scent that much.  Who knew  Big Grin
I think the enjoyment of a lot of scents is situational - smells good in the environment you use the product in but not so good with your morning shave or all day as an aftershave.  Everybody (almost) enjoys the smell of bacon frying with your morning breakfast and coffee but not so much with your morning shave or all day long as you go about your business.

So then I assume you wouldn't want Stilton or Limburger scented cologne? (If you've never smelled limburger it definitely smells like toe jam, but it tastes delicious once you get it past the nose.) Big Grin

Story... At work each year around Christmas time we'd bring stuff in for the crew. I brought in Limburger and sliced onions and party rye. We were eating it and I made an open face bite for a friend. He partook and immediately spit it out. He had it in his mouth just as the aroma hit his nose and thought it was something best flushed. It took some convincing and his own hand making the bite to try it again. The flavor is totally unlike the aroma.

ShadowsDad that sounds similar to durian fruit. In countries where it’s grown and enjoyed (KL) they say it smells like hell but tastes like heaven.

My wife had an experience a few years ago when she was traveling from Montreal to the interior of British Columbia. Quebec is known for their artisanal cheeses and she had packed several in her carry on bag. We have an annual wine and cheese party and that one was going to be special. She was on a layover in Vancouver and while sitting in the departure lounge she noticed an unpleasant odour which she assumed was coming from the people nearby. She got up and moved to another seat and could still smell the odour. She checked her bag and realized with horror that she was the stinky one.  Big Grin Oh well, it’s the price you pay. The cheese was excellent.

Marko, I'm gut laughing over that. Decades ago I worked in a factory and we'd have a gent go out every day to buy the makin's for our lunches. We'd place our order and he'd bring it back with change. I loved Tilsit cheese and still do, I just can't find it where I currently live. It's Limburger in training, but the same basic aroma. The guys at the table hated it, but I was in hog heaven.

I would have loved to have seen your wifes face when she realized where the scent was coming from. I can picture it even though I don't know your wife. I wonder how her clothing smelled.

I know ShadowsDad , if it had been me or you or probably almost any other guy we’d have just sat there with a satisfied smirk on our face but my wife, like almost any woman would be, was mortified. I’m chuckling the memory and I wasn’t even there to see it.  The mortification came through in her telling about though.

Too funny Phil!

That had me reading up about the cheese caper that Markos wife had. More laughing. Can't have to much of that today.

Smoked Spam without a smoker!

Spam is made in a smoked version but I can't find it locally. So yesterday I got to thinkin' and that can be dangerous, but that wasn't the case yesterday. I've had a hankerin' for smoked spam, but for me to smoke a mess of it I need 20 some odd cans of it to load the smoker. I won't simply smoke a few cans. But I have Wrights liquid smoke, and I have Spam in the cupboard. So I sliced a can of spam 1/8" - 3/16" thick then got a container to refrigerate the slices in. My plan was to use a medicine dropper and put smoke on the slices, giving the smoke time to soak in. I started with 2 droops and worked up to 4, but I don't think 5 would be too many. The mechanics of it... put 2 drops on one slice and lay it in the container, drops down. Put smoke droplets on the side that's up. Lay another slice on that. More smoke droplets and more slices until you can't go any higher. The top slices get a few drops and spread them out. My container allowed for 2 stacks. Maybe they can be used sooner, but I left them overnight for the smoke to do it's thing and fried them this morning. Pretty tasty. Now I can have smoked spam one can at a time and they don't take up space in my freezer..

A note on liquid smoke. Read the ingredient label. It should have 2 ingredients and only 2, water and smoke, and that's it. Wrights is one like that. Oh, and go easy on the smoke. Don't think you can just dunk the slices in it. It gets out of hand really fast and can make food inedible. This not a case of if a little is good a lot will be even better.

I've been playing with the above smoked spam since I posted and I'm using the same technique, but I've worked my way up to 10 drops of liquid smoke. It definitely has a bacon like flavor. I'm also using the 25% reduced sodium version and it's still plenty salty.
