Prep: P.A.A. Cube 2.0

Razor: P.A.A. Ascension SELECT Twist
Blade: Gillette Minora Platinum

Soap: Tabac (tallow)
Brush: Vikings Blade White Knight

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Tabac

For my last shave of the (Favorite Music) week I pulled out a few more albums from my most favorite bands to go along with my earlier Metallic and The Beatles posts.

Today's shave included Tabac for Tabactober and my newly acquired P.A.A. Ascension SELECT Twist for Open Comb October.

This is an interesting razor to say the least. You can tightening or loosen the handle to function as an adjustable razor. Being my first use it took me a little time to get it dialed into where I like it, with some blade feel.

Once I got things set I did a three-pass shave. The Tabac was fantastic with its cushioning and scent. All things said, another bbs shave was had.

Much love to Tom Petty R.I.P, Van Halen, The Cars, R.I.P Rick Ocasek and The Killers.

Rock on gentlemen and enjoy your shaves!

First vintage razor shave with first vintage DE, a 1946/47 Gillette Aristocrat. This razor comes courtesy of a BST purchase from another forum. The finish is quite nice although my brush handle reflection is muting the shine of the razor head. I achieved what I will call a BBS- shave. I did have to go over a number of areas multiple times. But, I believe that was largely a function of not getting the angle quite right. It often felt as if it was not even cutting until I started to connect with a better angle and full razor engagement. Overall a smooth razor and absolutely beautiful aesthetic. Once I become more consistent with the shave angle and interface I predict even better outcomes.

P.S. Thanks to Dave in KY for helpful suggestions on vintage razor options.

2nd shave with the injector and glad I got to try one but not for me Smile
The one thing it did help was my question of my previous testing with the CC Cream and how wonderful it did for me with the post feel I was getting and while it was less slick and residual was less the post was so wonderful !
the splash hits and its just the cooling of the alcohol evaporating off my face which I love but this was even rougher during the shave than my DE Timeless or Wolfman
Now I thought SV was my best and now I am thinking how do I combine these two for that ultimate feel of soap so I guess I am not done on the soap hunt Smile

Wednesday to Saturday, 2022-10-12 to 2022-10-15

We went on a short vacation to the North Cascades of Washington State, and while away from home I used my Rooney Beehive Finest, Coate's Lavender shaving cream, and a Wilkinson Bonded razor.
