Razor: Atelier DURDAN Le Maurice (1.0mm titanium safety bar)
Blade: Dorco Titan (d6)

Soap: Noble Otter Two Kings
Brush: Vikings Blade White Knight
Bowl: Bluff Cove Pottery

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum w/ No-Slip Grip System and Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

With the announcement that Two Kings (as well as two others) is being discontinued, I dedicated it was about time I give it and Noble Otter a try. Before today I had not ever used a Noble Otter product before so I was very much looking forward to this shave.

Continuing with this (second) Le Maurice pass-around I chose the titanium 1.0mm base plate. Compared to my first go-around the head now has the blade securing posts on the top cap versus the base plate and the handle has some more nuanced machining giving it more character and feel.

I don't know the full story as to why the blade posts moved but because they are short, I much preferred them on the base plate. When on the base plate you simply set the flat blade on the flat plate with the posts holding the blade. Then assemble. With the posts on the top cap, you have to slightly push and hold the blade down onto the curved cap while placing the base plate on. This difference is manageable and not a deal breaker but is a dislike based on personal preference.

As far as the Noble Otter soap goes, I'm thoroughly impressed. I only added water one time and the soap exploded into a full bowl of lather. Not only that but it was very creamy and slick with an almost velvety feel to it. I absolutely loved it.

The scent was very good as well. Its main profile is rose and oud. With it, you get this nice mix of floral and a bit of mystery, a bit of darkness from the oud and sandalwood. The scent has other notes but they all come together to make a nice fragrance.

I did a three-pass shave and because this combo was so good, I easily earned a bbs shave. I then opted for the oh-so-lovely Lilac Vegetal to soothe my shaven face. I'll say she doesn't love everyone but she most definitely loves me.

This was a very good shave that has opened my eyes to just how good Noble Otter's soap is. Now I'm even more interested in the Card Series. If you've never used Noble Otter, do yourself a favor and change that asap.

Thanks for reading and enjoy your shaves.
