First shave with the Grooming Dept "Angel", and what a heavenly shave it was too!
Amazing scent and lather. Everything about the lather was perfect. Slick, thick, rich, protective (I'm running out of adjectives...). Scent is very close to L&L/CL TSM Fougere (my favorite) but has an underlying complexity that I can't put my finger on.
When this comes back in stock, you NEED to get some.

Matsilainen, as you can see from this, I was not overly impressed with the iKon SBS razor.
It's not a bad razor but I wouldn't give it accolades.

Thoughts: Today, I am thinking about business models in the artisan shaving soap market (what can I say, I am currently doing my MBA), and how 4 oz soap tubs are piling up in my bathroom cabinet. I watched a video interview done by Mantic59 with Rod from Stirling, and believe it is quite instructive on how to think about the market. Then, there is the conversation about how 4 oz tubs are piling up. I am thinking, how did we end up with 4 oz (~100 shaves / 3 months use), is it truly optimal?

Optimal, in the sense that matters to a retailer, is the product (and size of product) that is desired by the greater part of a targeted demographic. It is ultimately determined by popular vote, and each dollar is a vote, as someone once said. The 4-ounce tub, while perhaps not optimal to some, appears to be optimal to many, and so profitable to those who have most at stake in the decision (which are the vendors or producers).

Just my thought.

Nice shave set and photo there!

Thanks for sharing your impressions, Freddy! I feel the same way about some aspects. For me, it's a carefree razor to use, but I wish it were just a little more efficient.
