SOTN Friday

(What's that got to do with shaving? Nothing. It's the dial face to my RCA Victor M-45 A, ca. 1946/47)
prep - shower with Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk Original Formula bar soap
razor - Canadian Gillette Long-Comb New
blade - Shaverboy Super Stainless (6)
brush - Fendrihan Classic Pure Grey Badger
soap - Proraso Green croap + 6 drops of glycerin
post - warm water rinse, DSA “Pure & Natural” alum, cold water rinse
aftershave - Jeris Osage Rub
For the soap, I went with the "Load it like you hate it" strategy. I scraped out two snurdles into the lather bowl. Then I added 6 drops of glycerin and whipped up some wonderful lather.
I don't hate Proraso Green, exactly, but I don't much like eucalyptus and strong menthol in soap, and I feel it always needs something added (glycerin, or a bit of cream of some sort) to make it perform well.
Making too much lather always feels decadent, right?
In spite of my anti-menthol/anti-eucalytptus leanings, I splashed on the Osage Rub, from a small (40 ml?) sample bottle. Slap-in-the-face-alcohol-burn, watering eyes from the fumes for 5 minutes, then the chill as I walked downstairs.
For some masochistic reason, it's beginning to grow on me. I just don't feel like the idea of buying a 14 oz jug of it. Then again, the scent fades quickly so I could just use lots of it. It might be just the thing to bump an order up for the free shipping.

We could be Heroes, just for one day.
