prep - shower with Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk Original Formula bar soap
razor - Gillette Canadian Pre-War Fat-Handle Tech (that's a lot of typing, innit?)
blade - Wilkinson Sword (9)
brush - Stirling 2-Band Synthetic
soap - First Canadian Shave Soap Co.'s Loretto Lime & Rosemary
post - warm water rinse, DSA “Pure & Natural” alum, cold water rinse
aftershave - Proraso Red splash
The FC soap (tallow-based) is rather old, and getting to be just a ring around the bottom of the tub. I daresay that it's better than when I first got it in 2017, I think, before he sold the company to new operators. It has less of the lime scent which used to irritate my skin a bit. Still makes nice-performing lather.
I find out tonight that SWMBO does not especially care for the scent of Proraso red AS.
How unfortunate for her.
So, I brought down my basket of scents and had her rate each one as "Like", "Okay", or "Hate"
We both like Clubman Classic Vanilla, which surprised me.
She hates GIT, says Irish Countryside is okay. I like both and can't tell the difference.
She dislikes the Jōvan Ginseng N•R•G Musk cologne, and I had to remind her that she had bought it for me a long time ago.
We both agree that AV Ice Blue is barbecue starter fluid. I'm waiting to find a willing sucker recipient to PIF it to.
To be fair, I should make up a bunch of labeled sample strips out of blotter paper and have her rate them after the top notes have faded.
