HSOTD/SOTD 11/2/22

I just got back from Curacao (southern Caribbean) - did a ham radio contest from there. Here's our score/write up: https://3830scores.com/showrumor.php?arg=T3aPzUvqiigf7 - Right now we're #1 in the world in the unlimited Multi-Multi category but I think that will likely change. Regardless the hams reading this may appreciate it Smile

Since it was a Caribbean week, now that I'm home I tried to continue that theme a bit. Hence, HSOTD/SOTD Caribbean style:

Shower: Sterling Bay Rum soap
Preshave: PAA Cube 2.0
Razor: Rex Konsul (set on 2)
Blade: Nacet, day 1
Soap: Tabac
Brush: Meggard's cheapie (I kinda like it better than my better brushes)
Bowl: Timeless
Post Shave: Cold water rinse, Alum block, Thayer's aloe and witch hazel
Aftershave: Pinaud Clubman Bay Rum
Balm: Zingari Man unscented

So as noted, back last night from the island of Curacao, we had fun doing a ham radio contest. I didn't take any shave gear besides my Mach 3 and a tube of Cremo 508. So it was great to get back to a routine of wet shaving. I just got the Rex Konsul so today was its maiden voyage. I like it, but I'm not sure if I like it as much as my Ambassador. Need to give it more time, but I got a couple nicks with it and I usually don't with my Ambassador. I'd think it would be the other way around. We'll see. The shave itself was pretty good. Not stellar, but not bad.

As always, thanks for reading, blessings to my shaving brothers, and keep looking up!

thanks Smile yeah I have some SV AS
part of my post feel is the AS hitting the face and what I feel with the CC Cream is so much smoother for me after the shave I just like to feel the alcohol evaporating  Smile
2nd part of that post is how I feel 30 min in and again the CC Cream is just a touch nicer than my SV ! the SV during the shave I do feel is a touch slicker but that is so close its the post where the CC Cream really pulls ahead for me before this though the SV was my #1 and still is for hard soap and the scents they have

do agree the SV AS is wonderful stuff though

todays Wolfman .95 / Permasharp 4th use and done
compared to my timeless I keep hoping one razor just wins out over the other Smile hahaahah but both are so so good really need to get the .95 plates to try on the Timeless
but having fun comparing

Razor set on 5 for WTG & XTG, then 4 for the ATG. Love, love, love injector shaves! Blade is a sChick with an unknown number of shaves on it as this razor gets use for ATG above the lip when I use a razor that I haven't mastered that area yet!
Soap is one that has always been in my soap drawer for almost 7 years now (no, not this exact tub! This is number 5 or 6 but who's counting!), Mystic Water Soap Sensitive Skin.
The brush is an apshaveco G5A in the Trotter Stubble Daddy Handcrafts Zombie Genes.

And while it is not shown, N6GQ reminded me that I also use Zingari Man's unscented balm!

New Gear Week / Exploration PIF / NOCvember

Prep: A nice warm shower

Razor: Blackland Era safety bar (level 5)
Blade: Eddison Super Stainless

Soap: Stirling Soap Co. Faskally
Brush: Yaqi Ocean
Bowl: Bluff Cove Pottery

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/ Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Stirling Soap Co. Faskally
Post 4: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry w/ Hyaluronic Acid
Finish: Stirling Soap Co. Faskally EdT

This shave is in honor of the Blackland Era razor. It was announced yesterday that for reasons that cannot be avoided, the Era is no more.

This is a sad announcement as the Era was in fact a groundbreaking razor. It was the very first mass produced, consumer grade product to be built and sold using 3D metal printing technology. This technology allowed the stainless steel to be shaped in a way to provide perfect edge-to-edge blade clamping. Right at the cutting edge! No blade flex at all.

It goes without saying I love the Era as I'm sure many other people do. So for the love of Blackland and the Era.... Whip up some lather and shave away gentlemen.

To the end of an "Era".... This shaves for you.
