I was going to ask if there was a new formula but I see from the quote below that there is. I may have to research what they've changed. Seems to be a minor change as they only went from 4.1 to 4.2. I probably won't consider another SV soap until at least 5.0, or whenever they get out of Beta testing.

It's difficult to comment on the new SV formula since I used completely new items for every aspect of the shave. The OneBlade was very smooth and after one side of my face was done I was throwing it around my face with wild abandon. Its a bit wooly under the nose at trying to get a clear line at the sideburns. One other thing to note that I won't know until my next shave is during my 2nd and last pass the blade felt that it may have lost it's keenness.

OneBlade Razor

Very likely. Might not want to use it again if you were already noticing a decline.

I am with you Brian. I have never been wowed by the SV soaps- good but not great. Certainly worth trying but not in my top 20.

Very cool packaging on the Cosmo though!

I guess I'm back on a little razor-variety kick after two stints of focus with my OneBlade and AS-D2.

Mid-shave Switch

• OneBlade
• Clipped GEM PTFE (1 pass)
• Smiling GEM PTFE (2 passes)
• PannaCrema Nuàvia Rossa
• Plisson Faux Horn
• Chatillon Lux La Quatrième Ville

I couldn't even force my way through a second shave with this clipped GEM blade. It does not perform near as well for me as the smiling GEM (spine removed but not clipped). Once the replacement blade was in all was good.
