Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,549

Will get back to the 1508.5 of NYC tomorrow but just had to use the Bay Rum today. I know there are many iterations and preferences and I am by no means an authority on what a Bay Rum is. But I AM an authourity on what I like and THIS is MY BAY RUM. Awesome scent and with the quality lather and ingrediants to make my skin wake up. GREAT job Frank Dragonsbeard and has me thinking hard on my soap collection and what I should narrow things down to. Why have all these amazing for my skin soaps and not get to them on a more regular time frame due to rotations. Dave is putting his thinking cap on........Have a great day everyone !

Razor: P.A.A. La Criatura
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum (d8)

Soap: Palmolive
Brush: Vie-Long (horse)

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/ Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry w/ Hyaluronic Acid

Today's shave had to be a quick one and a minimal one, therefore I opted for some truly wonderful (now unobtainium) Palmolive shave stick.

This soap really is one of the best soaps out there. It's tallow based so it lathers like a dream and it smells amazing. It's hard to describe but it's just has this great fresh, clean scent that's quite addictive.

It's really a shame that these were discontinued. Even though these shave soap sticks were very inexpensive, their quality really made them a stand out. Trust me. I'll say that I love this soap so much that I would do almost anything to get my hands on some more. They're that good!

With a quality lather on my face worked up care of my Vie-Long house hair brush, I went to it. The Phoenix Shaving LA Criatura open-comb double slant made short work of my thick whiskers, cutting them down with an eighth day Astra blade, no sweat.

I did three passes with some buffing and spot treatment at the end because I settle for nothing less than a bbs shave. The La Criatura is a nimble one but not the most mild one. It's easy to wield but has some good blade feel to it. I like blade feel so I'm into it.

All went well so I wrapped things up but this time, without a splash. I just stuck to my ritual alum treatment followed by some menthol and eucalyptus witch hazel. After that I rubbed on some Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Extra-Dry cream. What can I say but this stuff is ridiculously good? If you've never tired it, you are missing out. All feelings of a shave are gone once this is on your face.

Well there you have it my friends. Another great shave with some great gear.

Take care everyone and enjoy your shaves!
