A little while back I reviewed a sample of Zingari Man Mariner. I never liked reviewing samples and part of me always felt the review was potentially unfair. Most samples do not give you enough to work with on dialing in which is why I prefer tubs/pucks. That one use of the sample may be on you if not up to par. Also, I am biased being a confessed tallow junkie. I still prefer tallow over vegan soaps but that day I went into it already biased which I shouldn't have.
I have since purchased a tub of Lothario from Heather (Zingari) which is a Bergamot & Bay scent. I love Bergamot & Bay and scent wise this does not disappoint! When opened I was greeted with a beautiful blend of the 2 that I had to take in several deep breaths of. I went through my normal prep routine and remembering my initial use of the Mariner sample, I made sure to adjust my approach. I loaded for about 20 seconds using my little Yaqi brush (love this brush) and proceeded to face lather. The lather was easily built and stable. No issues of drying out or dissipating. Using my Karve with a C plate and a GSB I made my first initial pass with the grain. The cushion, Glide, and slickness was on point! I proceeded with my 2nd and 3rd passes, Wrinsing between each pass. The residual slickness was there each time and was never less than the first. Scent carried through the whole shave and was neither overpowering or lacking. I admit I felt sheepish and will reach out to Heather and offer an apology on my original review. The soap is an excellent soap for a vegan base! Will I be tossing out my tallow? No! Is it as good as a top tallow? No. But it can definitely hold its own! Would love to see what she can do if she goes tallow!!
Post shave was good but not wowing and was what I would expect. It did not dry me out and my skin felt nice. She was kind enough to include a sample of the Lothario balm and even a small sample of her Lothario beard oil for my goatee. Last review I did I raved about her balms and still do. It makes me like using balms! Fantastic face feel! Before applying the balm I used a splash of CRSW Bergamot & Bay and after post balm application, used the oil on my goatee. I can't say anything on the oil for I have never used a product such as bearb balm or oil so I have no comparison.
In the end I am very pleased with my purchase and have no plans to part with. I'll just need to make a little more shelf space for some Vegan in my life! ?
If you read this Heather, I'm sorry for my first impressions and thank you for a great product!

I've noticed a huge difference between the English Gillette Red Tip vs the US Gillette Red Tip, because, the English Gillette Red Tip is smoother and more effective during the shaves and I'm very glad to have the English Gillette Red Tip in my den.
