Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.

Great shave this morning. Returned to Saponificio Varesino and their excellent "Opuntia" shave soap and ASL. Fantastic scent with notes of bergamot, pineapple and blackcurrant that give way to floral body notes of birch, rose and jasmine. Woody, musky and slightly amber base notes anchored by patchouli, vetiver, white musk and oak moss. Incredible lather built with the SV 2.0 Manchurian Badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the '49 Gillette Executive and I finished with a splash of Quinn's Pink Grapefruit & Orange Rind witch hazel, followed by the matching aftershave lotion.

Hope you have a great day. Smile

I have always been intrigued by Kent shaving soap. It looks like it might be associated somehow with LEA (same packaging) but is a tallow base where as LEA (currently) is vegetable base? Can you shed any light on this, or if not, describe it for us?

Thanks in advance.

As I understand it, Kent is from the UK.  The tablet I have is tallow based however the current version is no longer tallow based.  I haven't tried the newer version so can't comment.  The tallow based is really a nice soap. Lathers easily, gives great protection, leave my face feeling great.  And it has a mellow pleasant  scent.  I like it a lot.
