Well the day is finally upon us, the last day of #manogamousmarch or as I've been calling it #mitchellsmarch.
I've been bemoaning my shaves of late owing to the old adage of "familiarity breeds contempt" really hitting home. It was an excellent shave this morning so I can't complain but I'm looking forward to moving on and sampling all those shaving goodies I've missed over the last month. The Malboge splash got some compliments today at work :-)

The TGN Finest knots are one of my favorite knots and to me represent a real value in cost/performance.

Hadn't shaved with a DE89-headed razor in a while. My Wolfman, OneBlade, injectors, and AS-D2 have spoiled me at this point: the DE89 didn't go over well at all. Rough and clumsy in comparison. Too much blade-feel. No thanks! My replated NEW SC or even my OneBlade will likely be my travel razor, despite the small risk of loss.

Crown King scuttle
Phoenix shavette
Gillette 7oclock green (2)
Stirling Vanillas Sandalwood splash

I am learning more everyday with this shavette. I have learned that this is a very unforgiving tool, but is not vindictive. If I am slow and attentive, I will be rewarded with a clean, comfortable shave. If I lose focus or get sloppy, I will get cut. I have 4 cuts from the last 4 days that are not cute.

But I am not one to be easily intimidated, so I will be patient and careful, and learn how to control this beast. Despite the injuries, I am enjoying the process and the experience. For the time being, sticking to 2 passes with the shavette and doing a final with a DE might be a smart move. ATG on the back of my head is pretty sketchy at the moment...
