My wife bought me this shave cream and stand so of course I had to give it a go. The cream off the tub is black and although on the Viking Blades website they list the scent as "Calm, Luxurious and Mature", I really couldn't detect a scent. I scooped out a fingers worth of the cream (which was too much) and whipped it up into a nice lather in my scuttle. Once I felt I had the lather ready I painted it on and went to work. I don't know if it was the lather or the blade but the shave felt a little rough. There seemed to be an abnormally high amount of blade feel for the FB on 6 and it felt a bit tuggy. I will give the blade another shot with some Stirling lather to determine if it was the blade or the lather that was the issue. The results however were a nice DFS with no irritation so I can't complain there.
