Hello Clint! I noted with interest that you used the Karve CB today! At some time of your choosing, I humbly request your thoughts on the Karve CB with the D plate compared to the Karve Overlander. I use the B plate, and find the Overlander a closer shave, but don't have any other plates. More curious than anything else, as you may have seen many folks earlier comparing the Overlander to the D plate. Thanks and good day to you!

Rooney 1/2 Ebony Finest (24/57)
Brooks Brothers shaving soap (tallow)
Wilkinson Bonded System (2)
Ginger's Garden Ginger Blossom aftershave

Another excellent shave. However, the old triple milled soap is getting to be difficult to lather up, for some reason, so I am going to have to grate it and pack it back into the bowl.

Razor: Gillette Tech
Blade: Sputnik Blade, 2nd use
Brush: Omega #625 silver tip badger
Bowl: Captains Choice Copper Lather Bowl Standard Bowl
Preshave: PAA Cube Unscented Soap
Soap: A&E Barbiere Sofisticato Croap
Aftershave: A&E Barbiere Sofisticato Aftershave
Balm: L’Oréal All In 1 Moisturising Cream Balm
Additional Care: Osma Laboratoires Alum Block

Possibly one of my favourite and longest lasting scents with this soap and splash set, but never overpowering. The Tech was as smooth as ever. Just a great shave from start to finish.

I bought the Overlander after reading the thread here on DFS. After using the Overlander for 9 consecutive shaves, I decided to break out my Karve with the D plate for a comparison. Upfront both razors work very well for me. I have the original Karve with the D, E & F SB plates as well as the D OC plate. The D safety bar is my favorite of the group. The D has more blade feel than the Overlander and I found it a touch more efficient. I did end up with a weeper which was my fault. The Overlander requires zero thought from me while shaving. The D requires some thought but honestly its pretty much automatic for me as well. I expected I would notice more differences between the two razors than I did. Based on today's shave I am not sure that the Overlander will stay in the my collection longterm. The D plate works as well for me and I can go more wild with the other plates I already have. I hope this helps.

Thanks, Clint, that is helpful information, and I appreciate your taking the time to write it up!
