A few months ago when it became apparent he was never going to repair the finish on it himself and ignored all my emails I decided to do what he couldn't. So I sanded it back and applied 3 coats of yacht varnish. It's a much more glossier finish than the brush I bought but at least the water won't rot the handle. It took me 3 days to do what he couldn't manage on two separate occasionsThe brush looks great and you did a fantastic job! It really is unfortunate that you had to experience such a challenging time with Gustavo.
I hope you can at least enjoy the brush.
Unfortunately it has a far greater gloss look to it but it was the only way I could ensure no further damage came to the brush. Hopefully I'll feel like using it more now that I have all that off my chest. The knot is fantastic by the way.
2nd go with my Gillette Aristocrat and still ''learning'' with my Gillette Aristocrat.
• Prep: Warm water
•Gillette Aristocrat
•Astra Superior Platinum
•Razorock Plissoft Monster 26mm
•Derby Shaving Soap
•Warm then Cool water rinse
•Old Spice Classic Aftershave
•Nivea Men Post Shave Balm Sensitive
Very nice and efficient shave! Extremely smooth razor as well. 2 passes and I'm done. Reminds me of my maggards v3 standard head. I think my angle is mostly off on my ATG pass, where my angle and/or pressure is off on my right jawline resulting in redness. Really the only place I had trouble with this shave. I am consistently getting 2 pass BBS results. Which is good for me because less passes = less irritation, well at least for me. Have a good day!

Razor: Schick G
Blade: Schick (1)
Brush: Shavemac ATG LE The Rowl Silvertip
Soap: Route 66 Perfect Storm
Aftershave: Folsom & Co. Shambala
Bowl: Symmetrical Starry Night Dottie Bowl
The Schick G is a very nice change from my other razors. It is very easy to get a close comfortable shave without any issues. The Route 66 Perfect Storm is very good and a little harder soap than some of the other Route 66 soaps, which I like. All in all a very good three pass shave with a nice aftershave.
