I've been enjoying some new soaps lately and have neglected this gem. Rhapsody is a wonderfully bright scent with some amazing performance. I'm not sure why but it seems slicker than other B&M soaps.

-First time with the SV Dolomiti was excellent, both in ease of lather and performance. I've become a big fan of the entire SV line.

-The Ikon slant is the loudest razor I've used yet. It sounds as though the blade is not restrained by the razor, very impressive. It's an efficient but mild razor. After three shaves I haven't had a nick or any irritation. I also haven't had any issue with the blade alignment...I simply clasp the two parts of the head and use the handle to gently tap the blade into place, then while maintaining a good grip on the head, screw on the handle. Do some users prefer the asymmetrical alignment? I've kept the blade edge aligned with the top cap.

-The Savile Row 3824 is also on it's third use. It's very soft, controls the lather well and has a great handle. It really gives up the lather. Next time I'm going to load it even more- for the third pass I gave it a squeeze which completely emptied the knot of lather. I see why this is such a popular and iconic brush.

-All in all a very close, irritation free shave.

Comments: Today was another straight razor only shave! I did two passes (WTG, XTG), then a cleanup type pass (XTG/ATG).  I did have to do some extra cleanup as this shave didn't seem to give me a smooth/close enough shave.  I felt more than a couple of areas that could have been closer.  No issues with the Soap Commander soap but just maybe I didn't get the lather as good as I should have which probably contributed to the extra work I needed to do to get the shave close enough for me to be okay with it!  It is very good soap and works well. A good shave today and I will call it an almost DFS shave! No irritation or nicks!!

Please feel free to leave comments on any items used as I enjoy reading them to see what others say about the gear I am using/trying out! Of course, YMMV!

Thx.
