Tried bowl lathering with the Synthetic this evening. Much better results this time. 
Used less soap with a slightly damp brush. Added the water little and often. The soap could take a lot of water. It took a little elbow grease but impressed with the end results. 

The Noble Otter Monarch performed brilliantly.
