Love, Laughter & Shaving
SOTN for ... uh ... let's see ... Monday!
Retired and in a pandemic. Who cares what day it is.
prep - shower with Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk with Shea Butter bar soap
razor - Edwin Jagger DE87
blade - Feather (1)
brush - Simpson Special 1
soap - Edwin Jagger Aloe Vera Premium Shaving Cream
post - warm water rinse, DSA “Pure & Natural” alum, cold water rinse
aftershave - Reuzel
music - "Twin Peaks" original soundtrack music
I was poking around looking for a new blade, preferably a kind I had not used for a while just for the variety, and found some Feathers. It was either those or Derby.
Feathers won.
I used the EJ outside of the razor rotation order because it was fairly mild.
The EJ Aloe Vera cream was from a 10 ml sample. It's okay. It was great when I first brushed it on, but then it seemed to go pasty towards the end of the pass. Maybe it needed more water.
Surprisingly (for a brand-new Feather), there was no bloodshed, and minimal feedback from the alum or AS, but part of my neck feels a bit like it's bruised. I used to get that a lot from over-zealous shaving.
I can still call it a BBS though.

We could be Heroes, just for one day.

SOTD TUESDAY MORNING, OCTOBER 27, 2020
I was up early today. I selected my Dubl Duck Goldedge for today’s mug shave along with my SS DLC coated RazoRock Lupo for the dome, two razors that never disappoint. And they certainly didn’t this morning. The one lb. Rearden Razor 316L SS Tuxedo Synthetic brush gives heft in one’s hand new meaning. With the three lb ankle weight strapped to my left forearm, I got a decent workout during the lathering process. The brush generated that yogurty lather that leaves my face and dome feeling great post shave. Three passes (WTG, ATG, XTG) for the mug and two (ATG, ATG) for the dome left me feeling cool, velveteen smooth and refreshed!
RAZOR: Dubl Duck Goldedge 11/16 (Mug), SS DLC Coated RazoRock Lupo (Dome)
BLADE: Sharp Star (2)
PREP: Cold water rinse followed by Argan Oil
BRUSH: Rearden Razor 316L SS Tuxedo Synth
SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Humphreys Lilac WH. Finished with Cremo Cooling Post Shave Balm.
