Dart-Vib'raz/BIC. I experimented with alternative plates for the Vib'Raz cap, finding the Merkur and Razorock plates while closely matching the geometry of the stock plate with the addition of an open comb, were still very mild and didn't improve anything. I did a pass with the Perfector plate, which does add a more aggressive aspect to the shave, finally landing on the Dart for a clean-up pass. Interestingly the Dart-Vib'Raz feels like it holds the blade more rigidly than the stock Dart without giving up either comfort or efficiency. Full shave with this combination tomorrow.

What a wonderful shaver the DE89 is.  This was my first DE razor, and it’s been overshadowed by some more fancy one but it’s a great razor nonetheless.  My face wanted a little more TLC this morning and the Ethos did the trick very nicely, thank you very much.  No need for any post-shave products when using the Ethos soaps; they are a full-service shaving solution!

The Santal is one of the all-time great creams. Perhaps not Mysore sandalwood in it, but still a wonderful scent, especially with its sweet vanilla and amber base notes. The razor and blade combination is excellent. I have not nicked myself with the razor, but it feels like it could happen if I was not paying attention. And the Chanel aftershave is very soothing, with its sandalwood and amber notes matching the shaving cream scent really well. Altogether a fine and elegant shave on this warm morning.
