SOTN - Tuesday, July 27, in the 2nd year of the COVID-19
prep - shower with Caprina Fresh Goat’s Milk Original Formula bar soap
razors - Henson AL13 Mild & Gillette L4 Slim Adjustable
blade - Wilkinson Sword (7) - my second-least favourite blade.
brush - APShaveCo SynBad
soap - Stirling Noir
post - warm water rinse, DSA “Pure & Natural” alum, cold water rinse
aftershave - Old Spice Classic (because somebody has to use it up)
music - streaming the CBC Listen "Chill Out" playlist
This was an attempt to find out which setting on a Gillette Slim Adjustable felt about the same as the Henson. I swapped the blade back and forth between the two razors, changing the setting on the Slim. I mostly paid attention to the drag.
I decided that it was somewhere between a 3 and a 4. As it turns out, according to the B&B wiki blade gap comparison chart then Gillette Adjustable has a blade gap of .66 mm at #3, and .74 mm at #4. The Henson FAQ gives a blade gap of .68 for the mild version, so my subjective comparison seems about right.
Somehow, though, there was more negative feedback from the alum than usual with the Henson alone. There's usually none.
Still a BBS.
FWIW, Henson gives the blade gap for the Medium as .85 mm, which I guess makes it like a Gillette #5.5.

We could be Heroes, just for one day.
