I decided today I would use a selection of VDH items I’ve had laying around for a while. I use the VDH brush a lot, but I hadn’t tried the razor, blades, or luxury soap. The soap smells a bit better than their Deluxe soap (not by much) and doesn’t seem to have the protection that their Deluxe and Glycerin soaps have, but all in all, works pretty well. I’ve commented on the brush before, it works very well. The razor and blade were a real pleasant surprise. The razor is a twist to open that looks like a Weishi. That’s as far as the similarity goes. This razor is much more aggressive than the Weishi. I would say like a 5 on a Gillette adjustable. Very well balanced and easy to maneuver. I liked it a lot. The blade was as smooth and sharp as any Persona I’ve used lately. I expected it to tug like a Merkur but it didn’t. I got a close shave with no cuts or irritation. A friend gave me a bottle of POLO Black AS that he had received as a gift; he didn’t care for it. It’s a heavy fragrance best suited for nighttime. It’s expensive stuff (at least for me) so I don’t know that I’d buy it for myself but I do like it. Anyway, a nice relaxing shave with great results.

This is what the bottom of a Tabac jar looks like, for those who've never seen one. ? Tabactober comes to an end with the usual outstanding shave. I finished up with Ginger's Garden Spice Grenade for the welcome menthol cool, great skincare and scent.
