HSOTD/SOTD 1/23/23

Shower: Duke Cannon Buffalo Trace Bourbon bar soap
PreShave: Razor Emporium PreShave bar
Razor: Alpha Outlaw
Blade: Gillette Platinum, day 2
Soap: 345 Hometown
Bowl: Timeless
Brush: Razorock Big Bruce
PostShave: CWR, Alum, Lucky Tiger
AfterShave: Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve
Balm: Nivea Sensitive

Great shave this morning - its a cool morning with frost in North Texas, and going to get colder, maybe even snow tomorrow! I chose to shave with the Alpha Outlaw today - a very nice razor indeed, heavy in the hand but not too heavy, super mild but quite efficient, and love the feedback. Great razor and I think I'll keep it in the rotation. And then there's Clubman Special Reserve - just an awesome scent in my book, love it!

I hope all my brothers are well and blessed. Keep looking up brothers!

Razor: T.R. Cadman & Sons Bengall
Razor: Fatip Il Grande Chrome Classic Gentle
Blade: Wilkinson Sword (d2)

Soap: Van Yulay - Soap of the Gods - Brisk Waters

Post 1: P.A.A. Alum No-Slip Grip System w/ Dry Dock System
Post 2: Dickinson's Enhanced Witch Hazel Deep Cleansing Astringent w/ Menthol & Eucalyptus
Aftershave: Van Yulay Brisk Waters

After a short break I found myself longing for a straight razor shave, so I pulled out my trusty Bengall to make things all right.

I chose to use my wonderful Van Yulay Brisk Waters gift box today. It comes complete with a 2oz jar of shaving soap, a 2oz bottle of aftershave splash, a 2oz bottle of aftershave balm, a 1.5oz bar of bath soap and your choice of either 1oz bottle of cologne, a 1oz bottle of pre-shave oil, a 1oz bottle of beard oil or a starter shaving brush. In my case, I have the bottle of matching cologne.

If you haven't already put two and two together, Brisk Waters is a take on Davidoff Cool Water. And unless you've been living under a rock, you know that Cool Water is a real classic that'll always have a time and place ready for it. So with that said, I was feeling like today was that time and place for its familiar aquatic scent.

I did a couple of passes with the Bengall which felt good, and the audible feedback was as enjoyable as ever.

I then switched things up with the Fatip Il Grande. It's a mild razor but fun to use. It has a really nice classic feel and is just about perfect. The vertical Greek column design of the handle feels great and is a nice contrast to the bite of the elegant knurling at the bottom. Overall this razor as a nice balance that makes it easy to use.

I did a couple more passes and earned a real nice bbs shave. I rinsed and then followed my shave up with some matching Brisk Waters aftershave splash. It's a witch hazel splash so no burn but has some real nice ingredients that soothe.

There you have it. Another great shave on an early Monday morning.

Take care my friends and enjoy your shaves!

The Seaforth Sea Spiced Lime sounds amazing. I love a good citrus soap, and this one I have had my eye on. Is it as good as it sounds?

Face Shave

Razor: Masamune
Blade: Feather (2)
Brush: SV 2.0 Faux Horn
Soap: Catie’s Bubbles Tactical Support

For the price these SV brushes are killer.

Head Shave

Razor: Masamune
Blade: Feather (3)
Brush: TNS Gold Nugget M2
Soap: Catie’s Bubbles Tactical Support

Every time I think about letting go of this brush I use it and am reminded why I like it so much. It's soft with zero gel, loads + releases the soap with ease, and is super dense. Milton has some kind of Voodo brush-making skills.
