Today's shave was a 5/5 winner for me.  The #4 jar in the picture is part of a generous set of samples I received from Fluffy a few days ago - Spearhead Shaving's Seaforth Spiced.  To the extent that a first outing can reveal, I am very impressed.  



From what I have gleaned from the internet, Seaforth was created as part of the Alfred D. McKelvy company in 1938.  Lacking capital for expansion, McKelvy sold out to Vick Chemical in 1941, after which Seaforth passed through several corporate hands until it passed out of production in the 1980's.  Spearhead has revived the brand, offering a few shaving products, including the Spiced and Heather soaps.  Both soaps are offered with "classic imagery and a modern take on vintage scents".  But althought vintage authenticity is not promised, that is at least in part because both scents have been "developed by Shawn Maher of Chatillon Lux and Maher Olfactive" - names whose reputations precede them.  

Regardless of the exact route that got Spiced to Fluffy and then me, I like it a lot.
