Shaves Face
Minnesota
Today’s shave I used the
William Elliot & Co No. 85 Razor with 345soap’s Shark Bite.
I had the urge to use Lilac Vegetal as an
after shave along with the Shark Bite Balm.
The pairing was good.
You just never know when the Veg chooses you whats going to happen.

Rockwell T2 vs. Apollo Mikron Mk2. BIC (1).

First shave with the Rockwell. To cut to the chase I think this is great razor, props to Gareth and his people. At 101g and a beast compared with the Gillette adjustables, the T2 razor I thought out be compared to it's illustrious Zamak predecessor the (94g) 1951 patent Apollo Mikron Mk2 which happens to be my best performing adjustable. Initial settings were 5 on the Rockwell, 6 on the Mikron. From the get go the Rockwell seems to get things right, a surprising amount of blade feel and feedback but with no indication of chatter stumble. Although I wouldn't mind a shorter handle, I had no problems in any respect, getting under the nose was fine, ATG performance on the chin and moustache areas exemplary. The Mikron is decidedly quieter providing little feedback which at times can result in my hands with an occasional nick (back of the head always) from too much pressure, but it is efficient and also never stumbles.

Moving to the head shave both performed well, with no need for pick ups from those other razors. Curious to see whether cranking the Apollo up to 8 would yield more feedback like the T2 it didn't. Post shave I would give a very slight edge to the Apollo in efficiency but I have nothing but enthusiasm for the performance of the Rockwell, its feedback acually makes it a lot easier to use than the Apollo. Ok I wish it looked as cool as the Mikron but I'll take it.[Image: 2753b2b54caa6b000596be5bd086bf71.jpg]
