Maggard Slant 2: The Pressure
I made extra effort to use no pressure today and this shave was much better. No weepers or irritation, but I didn't get as close as I can with the Futur yet. The Bronze Shadow made thick luxury lather from Maggard's Limes and Bergamot, and I used two passes and quite a bit of touch up. I finished with my newly acquired B&M Adagio aftershave - what a hidden gem! The scent starts as a black cherry and lime and evolves, adding musky peppery complexity as the light menthol cools in a very pleasant way. It's not a face freezer, rather the cold and scent make for a very refreshing start.

Prep: Lots of hot water to the face and a smearing of pure glycerin
Razor: Dorco PL-602
Blade: Astra Platinum (2)
Brush: Maggard Razors 24mm Purple Swirl
Lather: Fuzzyface Soaps English Rose
Post: Couple of drops of pure jojoba oil + Chatillon Lux Y/R/P toner

As always, Fuzzyface Soaps perform admirably. This one is no different. The only problem I can think of is scent strength. It's just too low. The PL-602 razor came though again. An excellent shave experience all the way around.

I have come to the conclusion I just can't get a Korean barber to cut a lot of hair off the top. I don't know why that is, but it just is. I've been here since May of 2015 and not once have I ever gotten a Korean barber to really cut a lot off the top. They'll buzz the sides and back nearly skin-level, however. I like scissors to be implemented when cutting hair on top, and I always ask for scissors on top and to cut a lot off. I might get them to cut a cm or cm and half off at most. And that's only if I protest greatly. sigh

Moral of the story: don't expect a lot of hair to be cut off the top by a barber in Korea.
