Hello everyone! Hope you had a pleasant evening.
Another outstanding shave this morning! Returned to the vintage Shulton "Old Spice" shave soap. Classic Old Spice scent and superb lather built with the Simpson "Chubby" 1 best badger brush for two passes (plus touch-up) with the Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements META-4 and I finished with vintage Shulton "Old Spice" aftershave lotion & vintage Avon "Brisk Spice" EdC.

Great shave with the new Optimus base from Aion. This has to be one of my favorite bases released from Aion/Grooming Dept, right there with the original mallards. I’ve had some bad luck with the recent bases (Kairos 2023, mallard 2023, Maxima) and they’ve been nearly impossible for me to load and lather. Optimus is super easy to load and explodes with lather, very comparable to the original mallards to me but with a noticeable improvement in post shave. Hope to see more releases in this base or it’s derivatives, a joy to use.
