For the past two to three weeks I’ve been cruising between relatively mild razors (for my face: EJ DE89; Karve C; Timeless 68; GC 68) and alternating with some mid-aggressive razors (for my face: Carbon CX 316 standard plate; Karve D; WR2 1.05; Charcoal Goods Level 2).  I’ve been rotating between a variety of badger and boar brushes and soaps, and have been in a really nice groove.  I’d started thinking that the brushes are all nice, and wondering whether the higher end brushes are really that much better.  Well, this morning, I used the Brad Sears 28mm badger, along with the Panama soap, and was reminded once again that a great brush is really, .... , well, GREAT!  This Brad Sears brush is tremendous.  Perfect weight and feel, nice mid-level backbone, just a perfect “suggestion of scrub” without any harshness.  What a delight.  Also, the Panama is wonderful when you whip it up really thick and then thin it just a little for pass two.

A very refreshing shave on this warm Shave Day morning. It was so relaxing that I almost dropped my favorite razor into the steel bowl in the sink. I wouldn't choose to wear the Paco Rabanne as a fragrance, but it's great for an aftershave.
