The “D” plate on the Karve is very nice. Just bought this brush, along with a “Moe,” from a fellow on B&B. Paid a fair price for used brushes. Beautiful looking brushes, and I know Paladin brushes are wonderful performers. Turned out though that both brushes were real stinkers. First time I’ve had that happen, and I’ve bought a lot of pre-owned brushes. The Tut absolutely reeked of mildew after first use and the Moe smelled like an nasty old sneaker after I tried it. Big old disappointment, and a foul nasty stinky trip. I’ve tried the “wash with mild dishwashing soap/soak in 50-50 white vinegar-water for 10-minutes and then dry completely” routine. They ended up with a faint odor of vinegar. So, I used the Tut with the GD B&M soap this morning to see if the stench was gone. The GD is strongly scented and very high quality, so I’m hopeful it won’t stink anymore. If it works, then I’ll keep them. If they both still stink, the seller has agreed to give me a refund and I will ship them back to him. As Sonny & Cher sang, “the beat goes on.”
